Here are some Coding apps for the iPad that we have used in the past. There are many more that are not listed here. Code.org and Common Sense Media are two great site to get more recommendations. Please also note that many web based applications also work on the iPad. One in particular I like is "Scratch".
Kodable
These puzzles do not require any reading or knowledge of right and left turns. Good app to learn coding concepts for pre-readers. Would be excellent for JK - 1st grade.
