Hopscotch is a block programming app designed for kids. It's ideal for kids who already have experience in block coding such as Scratch, Scratch Jr, Pyonkee, and others. They even have a Scratch Jr to Hopscotch transition guide. The thing I love most about the app is that it takes full advantage of iPad functionality and has blocks for things like: tilt, swipe, hears a loud noise, is shaken, etc.

My First Game!
I did some of the Hour of Code tutorials (which are super awesome) and then tried my hand at a game. In this game the Octopus moves around randomly. The Monkey moves based on the tilting of the iPad. The score increases by one every time the Monkey touches the Octopus. The games ends when the Score is 5. "You Win" flashes on the screen. Just for fun I made it so the Monkey disappears when the iPad hears a loud noise. The Octopus disappears when the iPad is shaken. I hope you like my first game!
